If nothing happens when you click the 1Password button in Safari
Restart your Mac. After you restart your Mac, open and unlock 1Password. Then open Safari, and see if the issue is resolved.

Open your 1Password web browser extension enabled browser. From the previous page, we have the browser extension enabled for Safari.
For this step to work properly, you must not be logged into any of LBNL's Google Apps services ( Gmail, Gdocs, Drive, etc. ). If you are logged in, quit out of Safari ( Safari > Quit ) and then open Safari again.
- Go to http://gmail.lbl.gov and that should redirect you to login.lbl.gov.
- Log in with your LDAP username and password as you would do normally.
- Enter your 'Master Password' to save the LDAP login username and password.1Password will prompt you to save your login regardless of a successful or failed login attempt.
- Name your new saved login.
- Click the 'Gear' icon to access additional options. Select 'Edit Login in 1Password...'. This will open the 1Password application.
- Edit the name ( if needed ) of your saved login information so that you can recognize it later.
- Then click on the field named 'website' to edit the URL. Replace 'https://login.lbl.gov/idp/Authn/UserPassword' with 'http://gmail.lbl.gov' without the quotes.
- Click the 'Save' button complete the process.
This example is specific to getting logged into Gmail or any other Google service at the Lab.

This is one of the benefits of using the web extensions and preferred method of creating and saving login credentials. Of course you have the option to not save the login by simply clicking 'Cancel' or 'Not Now' button.
Next you are going to use this login that you just saved in 1Password to access your LBNL Gmail account.
Using LDAP Credentials with 1Password
Before you begin, you will need to quit and reopen the 1Password enabled web browser. In this case, it is Safari.
For this to work correctly, you must not be on any page that has the address of lbl.gov, such as www.lbl.gov. Open a blank page or go to google.com web page.
1password 6 For Mac
- Now with your web browser open (the one with the 1Password extension installed), click on the 1Password icon in the browser toolbar and enter your 'Master Password' when prompted to unlock your vault.
- Select your saved Gmail login. In this case, it is named 'Lbl'.
Clicking on 'Lbl' should open a new tab, navigate to the login page, populate the user name and password fields, and log you into your Gmail account.
You now have completed adding and using saved credentials in 1Password.
